NC raises concerns over ministerial appointment amid allegations of controversial links
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Whip Sushila Thing has brought a matter of concern to the attention of the Speaker during today's House of Representatives meeting.
She pointed out the inclusion of an individual with a controversial background in the current Council of Ministers.
At the onset of the session, Whip Thing alleged that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' had appointed a person with a tainted reputation, allegedly involved in cooperative fraud, as a minister instead of pursuing legal action against them.
Additionally, Whip Thing highlighted the lack of action taken regarding allegations of involvement in gold smuggling by the then Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun's Secretariat and a family member.
She emphasized the necessity for thorough discussions on these matters, asserting that the House cannot effectively conduct its business without addressing these concerns.
