International Relations Committee meeting: Chair Yadav and MP Suwal trade barbs
Kathmandu, January 9 — A heated argument took place between Raj Kishor Yadav, the Chairperson of the International Relations and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives, and Nepal Workers Peasants Party (NWPP) MP Prem Suwal.
The altercation occurred during a committee meeting at Singhadurbar on Thursday when MP Suwal raised concerns about the chairperson ignoring his dissenting views while announcing a decision. This caused Chairperson Yadav to become agitated.
MP Suwal questioned the Chairperson's disregard for his disagreements, to which Chairperson Yadav responded angrily, accusing Suwal of creating drama. Suwal continued to express that the committee chair should not act in such a disrespectful manner, and Yadav retorted, calling him "disrespectful."
Suwal had expressed his disagreement with the formation of a subcommittee under the leadership of an MP who was not present during the discussion on the management and operations of Nepal Airlines Corporation.
Prior to this, there had been another argument between Chairperson Yadav and Maoist MP Sudan Kirati in the committee.
