NC selects Yubaraj Sharma as candidate for National Assembly Chairman

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has made a definitive decision to nominate Yubaraj Sharma as its candidate for the position of National Assembly Chairman.

The announcement comes ahead of the scheduled election for the Chairman of the National Assembly, the upper house of the federal parliament, set to take place on Tuesday.

This decision was reached during a meeting of the parliament party work committee chaired by the party President and parliamentary party leader, Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The meeting, held at President Deuba's residence in Budhanilakantha, was attended by key party members.

Following careful deliberations, the parliamentary party leader's secretariat confirmed that the party has also decided to extend invitations to other political parties within the National Assembly, urging them to support Sharma's candidacy.
