Maoist Centre nominates Narayan Dahal for NA Chairman

KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) has resolved to nominate party leader Narayan Dahal as its candidate for the position of National Assembly (NA) Chairman.

In a meeting convened by the Maoist Centre party office-bearers on Sunday, it was unanimously agreed upon to put forth NA Member Dahal as the official candidate, revealed Maoist Centre Vice-Chairman and Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota.

According to the schedule for the NA Chairman election, candidacies are to be filed between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm on Monday.

The NA is set to conduct the election for its chairman on March 12.

Additionally, the meeting deliberated on the forthcoming vote of confidence motion that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, commonly known as 'Prachanda,' is slated to seek from the House of Representatives (HoR) on March 13.
