RSP initiates investigation against Thapa after Dhaka Kumar's statement

KATHMANDU, Sep 13: The Rastriya Swatantrata Party (RSP) has initiated an investigation against Mohan Jung Thapa after expelled leader Dhaka Kumar Shrestha accused him of demanding Rs 30 million to make him a minister.

Shrestha was expelled from the party after the audio of him asking for money from medical expert Durga Prasai, saying that the core team of RSP was asking for 30 million to make him a minister, was released to the public.

Shrestha has recently revealed through the media that Thapa had asked for 30 million to make him a minister. RSP issued a press release on Wednesday regarding the issue and informed that they are conducting investigations on Thapa.

"This issue was discussed in the Central Performance Committee meeting of the party, which was held in the presence of the head of the Central Disciplinary Commission yesterday. In this regard, the Central Disciplinary Commission is proceeding with investigation and inquiry on central member Mohan Jung Thapa", the press release states.

The press release also mentions that action will be taken against any leader of the party within 72 hours if someone provides evidence of them taking money.

But Thapa has denied the allegations and said that the accusation against him was false and fabricated. He has challenged Shrestha to prove the allegations. He has informed through social media that he is ready to face any action taken by the party.
