Arrest warrant issued for PAC Chair Pokharel's ex-secretary

Morang, January 6 — An arrest warrant has been issued against Anil Kumar Pokharel, former personal secretary to Rishikesh Pokharel, an MP and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives, in connection with a fraud case.

The Morang District Court has granted permission for his arrest on Monday to facilitate an investigation into charges of embezzling 3.88 million rupees under the pretense of securing an MBBS seat.

Police have initiated a search for Pokharel following the court's decision.

Anil Kumar Pokharel, also a Morang District Committee member of the CPN (UML), allegedly misled victims into paying large sums for a false promise regarding MBBS admissions.
