Biplav-led CPN protesting against MCC, surrounding MCA office
KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The Biplav-led CPN is organizing a nationwide protest against the implementation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) today. The party is going to hold a nationwide protest saying that the United States has not made public its official opinion regarding the 12-point agreement with explanatory comments from the parliament.
Concluding that the MCC project is harmful to the nation, the party announced a phased movement on August 22. The party has also warned not to implement the MCC in Nepal until the United States publishes its views regarding the 12-point agreement.
Anil Sharma Birahi, a leader of the party, announced that they are surrounding MCA Nepal’s office and are protesting in the headquarters of all 77 districts. They will be interacting on the matter on Monday.
