Nepal wins ACC Premier Cup, enters Asia Cup
KATHMANDU, May 2: Nepal has won the ACC Premier Cup after defeating UAE by seven wickets in the finals held at TU Cricket Ground today.
Batting first, UAE had given Nepal a target of 118 runs, which Nepal met in 33.1 overs with a loss of 3 wickets. In the match, Gulsan Jha contributed 67 runs, while Bhim Sarki made 36 runs.
Earlier, Kushal Bhurtel scored 1 run and was dismissed by Rohan Mustafa in the second over. Similarly, Captain Rohit Paudel also scored only 1 run before becoming a victim of Mustafa. And in the seventh over, Ashif Sheikh too was out after scoring 8 runs. He was dismissed LBW by Ayal Afzal Khan.
With the win, Nepal has qualified for the Asia Cup going to be held in Pakistan this year, and has gotten a chance to play with famous nations of world cricket like India and Pakistan after winning the ACC Premier Cup.
