Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajeshman Singh and 6 Others Sued by CIAA

Kathmandu. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a lawsuit against 7 people, including the Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, Rajeshman Singh, at the Special Court.

The CIAA has filed a lawsuit against Mayor Singh and others, determining that Mayor Singh obtained citizenship by falsely claiming another person's daughter as his own daughter.

The CIAA has demanded punishment for Mayor Singh equivalent to the main perpetrator of abetment.

Similarly, the mother of the person who obtained citizenship, Rita Bhattarai, the then Ward Secretary Bhikhari Rai, the then Ward Chairman Tufail Akhtar Thakurai, and the then Administrative Officer of the District Administration Office, Parsa, Shadkumar Pokharel have also been made defendants.

Besides them, CIAA has also registered a lawsuit against Home Ministry employees Pushkar Rana and Parshuram Pokharel, considering them perpetrators for preparing a wrong report, as mentioned in the press release issued by the CIAA on Monday.
