ACC Premier Cup: Nepal gives Qatar 158 runs' target

KATHMANDU, April 27: In the final match of the group stage of the ACC Premier Cup going on in Kirtipur, Nepal has given a target of 158 runs against Qatar. After losing the toss, Nepal batted first and scored 157 runs losing all wickets in 40.3 overs.

Sandeep Lamichhane scored the highest 42 runs for Nepal. He managed to score that run with the help of 6 fours in 58 balls. This is the highest score scored by Sandeep in ODI cricket.

Losing the toss and batting first, Nepal had a bad start. Nepal lost two wickets for 9 runs. In the second over, Kushal Bhurtel got out after scoring 2 runs and in the fourth over, Bhim Sarki got out after scoring 6 runs.

In the 13th over, opener Asif Sheikh was dismissed after scoring 19 runs. He was also caught out by the bowling of Ikramullah Khan. In the 16th over of the game, captain Rohit Paudel got out after scoring 27 runs.

On the fifth wicket, Nepal lost Kushal Malla for 3 runs. Then, Sompal Kami returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs, while Arif Shaikh also got out after scoring the same number of runs. Dipendra Singh Airi and Gulsan Jha both could not perform well as well.
