Nepal secures ODI status with a decisive victory over UAE
KATHMANDU, March 12: Nepal displayed a dominant performance in the final tri-series of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Sunday, clinching a decisive 177-run win over the United Arab Emirates.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal posted a respectable score of 248 runs, thanks to captain Rohit Paudel's 77 off 112 balls.
In response, UAE faltered under Nepal's disciplined bowling attack, with Lalit Rajbanshi claiming five wickets and restricting UAE to just 71 runs in 22.5 overs.
With this win, Nepal retained its one-day international status, securing a place in the ODI rankings.
