Locals elated over Barhabise-Karthali road blacktopping

Karthali (Sindhupalchowk), Locals have no bound of happiness with the beginning of blacktopping of nine-km road section from Barhabise to Karthali which leads to Falate checkpoint of China. 
Rural people are happy when the road in Karthali along the short route to connect Falate checkpoint from Batase of Barhabise via Dolakha is being blacktopped. 
Mingma Lamu Sherpa, 41, of Barhabise municipality-2, Karthali said, "I am more than happy to see the blacktopping of road section. I used to walk for four hours to reach Barhabise Bazaar. With the road blacktopping I can reach there in an hour". 
He further said, "Many leaders had pledged to construct the road in my village during elections. I never expected the road will be accessible in our locality. Today it has come true. I am very happy". 
Likewise, Bikas Lama, 27, of the same village is also euphoric with the road connecting to China going through his village. "We never expected such unprecedented development in the area. We are feeling joyful to reside in the village with potencies of development explored through road blacktopping". 
Former parliamentarian of the constituency and Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet took the initiative for blacktopping of the road section. 
Minister Basnet said that blacktopping was put on top priority for easy operation of vehicles up to China via eastern and northern part of Sindhupalchowk and Dolakha. "The road will connect Nepal with China in near future and thereby facilitate trade relations between the two countries". 
Likiewise, Engineer of Joint Venture Company, which won the contract for the construction, Rohit Poudel Khatry said it is the model road among the construction of many roads the company did in mountainous region. 
The current blacktopping of nine-km from Batase to Durumathali is being undertaken at the cost of Rs 370 million.
