Proportional Representation System: UML, NC, Swatantra in top three
KATHMANDU, Nov 24: The counting of votes casted during the simultaneous voting held earlier on Sunday for the elections to the members of the House of Representatives and Province Assemblies under the Proportional Representation System is currently underway across the country.
According to the latest vote updates made available by the Election Commission till this afternoon, the CPN (UML) leads the counts tally as it has so far obtained 555,832 votes.
The Nepali Congress is in the second position with 529,009 votes followed by the Rastriya Swatantra Party with 286,000 votes. Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Centre) secures 257,000 votes followed by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party with 154,231 votes, the Janata Samajbadi Party with 66,688 votes, the Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party with 51,236 votes, the Janamat Party with 45,641votes, the Nagarik Unmukti Party with 38,724 votes, the CPN ( Unified Socialist) with 36,407 votes, the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party with 31,886 votes, and the Hamro Nepali Party with 21,730 votes.
