Election: Silent period begins
KATHMANDU, Nov 17: The political parties and candidates participating in the upcoming federal and provincial election are barred from staging election campaigns from Friday.
The Election Commission (EC) has warned political parties and candidates not to carry out any activity related to election campaigning from Friday.
The commission warned the candidates and cadres of the upcoming election that section 24 (5) of the Election (Offenses and Punishment) Act states that no campaigning activity can be done 48 hours before the election.
The final showdown is scheduled for November 20.
