Citizenship bill: SC demands written answer from President’s Office within 15 days

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: The Supreme Court has sought reason from the Office of President for not authenticating the citizenship bill passed by both the lower and upper house on Sunday.

A single bench of Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal ordered the President’s Office to submit the reason for not authenticating the bill at the Supreme Court within 15 days.

As many as five writ petitions were filed at the apex court after President Bidya Devi Bhnadari refused to authenticate the citizenship bill passed by both the lower and upper houses of parliament.
