There was lack of proper security management during local polls: EC

KATHMANDU, May 13: The Election Commission (EC) has maintained that there was lack of proper security management during the local level polls held on Friday.

Organizing a press conference on Friday evening, the chief election commissioner of Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya maintained that voting had to be postponed in many places due to weak security management.

Thapaliya also stated that the maximum of 74 to 75 percent and average of 65 to 72 percent of total votes were casted across the country.

Besides, Thapaliya said that there was not full support of political parties in conducting the election successfully.
