Rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning likely

KATHMANDU, May 2: There is an influence of local air, a low-pressure system prevailing from Uttar Pradesh to West Bengal of India and westerly wind in Nepal, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The weather is partly to generally cloudy across the nation.  One or two places of hilly areas of Province 1, Madhes Province and Bagmati Province as well as other provinces have been witnessing light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorm and lightning. 

The sky of Kathmandu Valley is cloudy from the morning as well as rainfall has been taking place at some places. 

The weather of province 1, Madhes Province, Bagmati Province and Lumbini Province would remain generally cloudy while the sky in Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province would remain partly cloudy in the afternoon.  

Rainfall has been taking place at some places in Province 1, Madhes Province and Gandaki Province as well as light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning at a few places in Bagmati and Karnali Provinces, according to the Division. 

Partly cloudy weather has been predicted in hilly areas of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces during the night. 

There is a possibility of rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning at a few places in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces and one or two places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces. 

Today's maximum temperature of Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 1.8 degree Celsius and minimum temperature at 15.5 degree Celsius. According to the Division, Kathmandu Valley recorded five millimeter rainfall while Dharan recorded the highest 15 millimeter rainfall in the past 24 hours.
