Two UML candidates elected unopposed in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, May 1: Two candidates of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, for the local level election have been elected unopposed in Kathmandu, according to the Election Commission (EC).

Ambika Sunar, candidate for the post of Dalit member of Kathmandu-18, and Gita Pariya for the same post of Kathmandu-22, were elected unopposed, according to the poll body.

Both candidates – Sunar and Pariyar – were candidates of CPN-UML, according to Nirmal Deula, Chairman of UML’s Kathmandu Committee.
