Complaint filed against UML’s Biratnagar candidate Karki

KATHMANDU, April 27: A complaint has been filed against Silpa Niraula Karki, UML’s candidate for the post of deputy mayor of Biratnagar metropolis.

Karki has been accused of filing her nomination for the local polls without resigning from the post of member of the Board of directors of Koshi Zonal Hospital.

The complaint was filed by Amrendra Yadav, Janata Samajbadi Party’s candidate for the same post of the metropolis, at the Biratnagar-based election office.

It has been learnt that Karki has submitted her resignation soon after the complaint was filed against her.

“A person who has been receiving salary or allowances from the governmental institutes cannot file nominations for the polls without resigning from his/her post,” said advocate Delli Dahal, adding that if Karki is found enjoying such facilities then her nomination may get scrapped.
