Probe committee formed to look into fire at gas industry

Kathmandu,  The Ministry of Supplies has constituted a six-member investigation committee to probe into the incident of massive fire at the Super Gas Industry at Sukhachaina of Birgunj Sub-metropolitan City-22 on Wednesday. Two people were killed in the blaze at the gas industry. 

The committee has been asked to submit a report within 15 days after finding out the facts and truth behind the incident by conducting an on-site study, and holding discussions with the local administration and locals. It is also asked to make recommendation for action against the culprits finding out the cause of the accident and the safety measures to be adopted to prevent such incidents from occurring in future. 

Director General of the Department of Supply Management and Consumer Interest Protection is the coordinator of the investigation committee while the members include the Under-Secretary (Technical) at the Department of Industry, the Under-Secretary (Technical) at the Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology, the Director (LPG Department) at the Nepal Oil Corporation and the Manager (LPG Department) at Nepal Oil Corporation, stated a press release issued today by spokesperson at the Ministry of Supplies, Mukunda Prasad Poudyal.
