Beni, Myagdi, A local farmer Krishna Bahadur Khatri of Beni Municipality in Myagdi tapped a mobile app, through which an electric motor turned on, and the water was lifted uphill 250 metres from the river for irrigation.
This new technology has made things easier for the farmers to irrigate their farmland through a touch of a mobile app, which has a connection to an electric motor set up at the source of water. Under this technology, one can switch on an electric motor set up to lift water from faraway by means of a mobile app.
"The water was lifted, travelled along and dropped 250 metres uphill within just five seconds when an electric motor set up at the reservoir turned on through a mobile app," said Khatri.
This is the first time that water was lifted uphill with the help of a mobile app, he claimed.
Approximately four rupees is charged each time to switch on and off an electric motor to lift water through a mobile app, he said.
