Top leaders of ruling alliance hold meeting at Baluwatar
KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The coordination committee formed to facilitate the government is holding a meeting at the Baluwatar-based official residence of the prime minister.
Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) are present in the meeting.
Similarly, general secretary of CPN (US) Dr Bedu Ram Bhusal, NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chair Upendra Yadav and JSP’s Federal Council Chair Dr Baburam Bhattarai are among those present in the meeting.
Dura Poudel, vice-chair of Rastriya Janamorcha (RJM) and government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki are present in the meeting which is discussing a host of issues including the Jan 26 National Assembly elections.
Earlier, the High-level Coordination Committee held a meeting on Thursday.
The committee presided by Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ram Chandra Poudel comprises the major leader of the five political parties belonging to the ruling coalition.
CPN (US) General Secretary Beduram Bhusal confirmed that the meeting discussed the upcoming election of the NA members scheduled for January 26 and form a province-level committee in all seven provinces with the representation of five political parties for the publicity of the event. The ruling alliance has already filed joint candidacies for the elections.
The meeting also decided to form a coordination committee for the publicity and management of the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election.
