Delegation of Buddhist Maha Vihara, Malaysia, visits various heritage sites

 

 

Kathmandu, A delegation of Buddhist Maha Vihara at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has today visited Basantapur Durbar Square and surrounding areas enlisted in the list of World Heritage Site. 
A 62-member delegation under the leadership of Chief of Maha Vihara, senior Buddhist leader K. Dhammaratana arrived here on Monday. 
On the occasion, the delegation was briefed about the Kasthamandap, damaged by the April 25, 2015 Gorkha earthquake. 
Earlier on Monday, the delegation had visited various important heritage sites including Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath and Charumati Monastery. 
Buddhist leader Dhammaratana expressed the belief that the visit would help strengthen relations between Nepal and Malaysia. 
The delegation returned back home today after completing two-day Nepal visit.
