NC 14th General Convention: Results of nine more CC members announced

KATHMANDU: The final results of the election of Nepali Congress' nine central members towards the Madhesi cluster held under the Nepali Congress 14th General Convention was announced on Tuesday 

As per the results, Ajay Chaurasiya (2,522 votes), Binod Chaudhary (2,206), Chandra Mohan Yadav (2,138), Mahendra Kumar Ray (1,984), Dinesh Kumar Yadav (1,959) finished the race with the highest votes to get elected on the five open posts under the Madhesi [Open] cluster, said election committee secretary Jagannath Shrestha.

Newly elected central member Chaudhary is a noted industrialist while Chandra Mohan is the son of the first President of Nepal, Dr Ram Baran Yadav. 

Similarly, Mukta Kumari Yadav (3,969), Minakshi Jha (3,012), Manju Kumari Yadav (2,883), and Nagina Yadav (2,846) have been elected towards the Madhesi [Women] quota. 

Eight of the nine CC members are considered close to the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction of the party. Only Chandra Mohan Yadav belongs to the Shekhar Koirala panel. 

So far election results of 72 posts, out of 134 including office-bearers, have been announced. The results of 62 central members towards inclusion are expected to come by Wednesday.
