In Pics: 18th Jyapu Day being observed with much fanfare

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: 18th Jyapu Day was celebrated with much fanfare in Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon. 

A cultural rally, attended by the people from the community clad in traditional attire, was organized at Basantapur in the capital. 

The day falls on the day of Yomari Puni.

The word Jyapu in Nepal Bhasha means Work (Jya) and Pu (Seed). 

There are nearly 600,000 people belonging to the Jyapu community all across the country.
