Vote count for NC’s Joint General Secretary begins
Upadhya, Angdenbo and Pariyar elected for the post from Women, Dalit and Indigenous clusters respectively.
KATHMANDU, December 17: The vote count for the posts of eight Joint General Secretaries of the ruling Nepali Congress in its 14th General Convention has begun.
The vote count began at 11 AM this morning at the party’s headquarters at Sanepa.
Among eight clusters of the post, the count for Dalit, women and indigenous categories were held on Thursday. Today, the count is on for Madhesi, Khas Arya, Tharu, Muslim and backwarded community categories, according to Tej Bahadur Rawal, a member of election committee.
From the Khas Arya category, Kishor Singh Rathor, Dev Raj Chalishe are vying for the post. Likewise, from the Tharu cluster, Umakantha Chaudhary and Tej Lal Chaudhary are candidates for the post.
Similarly, from the Muslim cluster, Farmulla Mansur and Shek Bikal are vying for the post while Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, Bhadri Pandey and Chet Raj Baral are vying for the post from backwarded group cluster.
Of the eight clusters for the posts of Joint General Secretaries, Maha Laxmi Upadhaya ‘Dina’ and Bhim Raj Angdembo have already been elected from Women and Indeginous clusters respectively. Also, from Dalit category, Jeevan Pariyar has been elected for the post.
