NC General Secy vote-count: Thapa closer to victory, who gets how many votes?

KATHMANDU: Gagan Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharma are leading the vote count for the two general secretarial positions of the Nepali Congress (NC). 

The voting for the NC executive committee was held on Monday. 

Here is the vote count tally 

Votes counted: 3120

Gagan Thapa: 2037

Bishwo Prakash Sharma: 1255

Prakash Sharan Mahat: 1024

Minendra Rijal: 547

Rajaram Karki: 75

Thapa and Rijal were fielded as general secretary candidates by the Shekhar Koirala panel. Koirala, however, lost the presidential election to Sher Bahadur Deuba. 

Mahat and Poudel are the candidates from the Deuba panel, Sharma from the Prakash Man Singh camp and Karki from the Bimalendra Nidhi faction.
