Heavy security personnel deployed at SC, advocates, security personnel clash once again

KATHMANDU, November 18: Heavy security personnel were deployed at the Supreme Court premises on Thursday compared to other days.

The agitating Nepal Bar Association (NBA) staged a sit-in protest at the apex court on Thursday as well in the bid to avoid Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana from entering the court.

The security personnel and advocates clashed when the agitating advocates tried to breach the security and enter the premises of the main building of the Supreme Court.

A meeting of the NBA held on Tuesday has announced more protests against CJ Rana. The association has announced to stage protests in all the 18 high courts across the country to pressurize CJ Rana to step down.

Meanwhile, CJ Rana has agreed to hold a full court meeting and introduce the lottery system to schedule cases for hearings.
