CJ Rana agrees to hold full court meeting, meeting likely at 2PM

KATHMANDU, November 18: Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana has finally agreed to hold a full court meeting.

CJ Rana has also directed the Chief Registrar Lal Bahadur Kuwar  to summon a full meeting on Thursday.  As per the directive, Kuwar is making preparations to invite all the justices for a full court meeting, according to a Supreme Court source.

The main agenda of the meeting will be amending the rules as per the demand of other justices, according to CJ Rana’s secretariat. The meeting is likely to amend the rules through consensus or majority decision.

The full court meeting is expected to quash a rule of scheduling the cases for hearing by the chief justice and introduce a lottery system.

The apex court is making preparations to hold a full court meeting later this afternoon at 2 PM.
