3,611 new COVID-19 cases reported in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU, July 30: A total of 3,611 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. 

New cases were detected through 9,783 PCR tests and 4,878 antigen tests conducted during this period, the Ministry said.

In a routine press conference here Friday, the Ministry said that 27 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 fatality caseload to 9,834.

Similarly, 1,816 COVID-19 patients enjoyed full recovery from the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours which reached the total recovery cases to 652,261 as of now. 

The recovery rate stands at 94.1 per cent, the Ministry said.

The number of active cases currently stands at 31,014. Among them, 27,820 are in home isolation, 3,194 in institutional isolation, 686 in ICU facilities and 161 in ventilator support.

Meanwhile, 3,779,932 people have received the first dose of vaccine against COVID-19 so far while 1,621,754 got full doses.
