Nepal reports record-high 7,448 new COVID-19 cases, 37 deaths on Monday

 

 

KATHMANDU, May 3: Nepal confirmed a total of 37 fatalities linked with coronavirus infection on Monday alone. According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), a total of 3,362 people have so far succumbed to the viral disease as of Monday afternoon. This accounts for 0.99 percent of the total infections.

Meanwhile, officials confirmed 7,448 new cases of the coronavirus disease in the past 24 hours taking the country’s overall case tally to 343,418.   Of the confirmed infections, 54,041 are yet to recover from the disease while 286,015 others have won their battle against the deadly virus.

Similarly, the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley reported 3,666 new cases on Monday alone. Kathmandu district saw 2,922 new cases while 222 people in Bhaktapur and 522 others in Lalitpur were diagnosed with the disease.
