UML to seek clarification from eight leaders

KATHMANDU, April 20: The CPN (UML) 10th general convention organizing committee meeting held at Prime Minister's official Residence, Baluawtar today decided to seek clarification from eight UML leaders.

The meeting chaired by party chair KP Sharma Oli decided to ask for clarification from the party province lawmakers who crossed the party whip in Karnali province. The province assembly members including Prakash Jwala had violated the party whip and cast votes for chief minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi recently.

Similarly, the meeting has again asked for clarification from UML leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey and Ghanashyam Bhusal as their previous clarification was not satisfactory.

Chair Oli's political report and general secretary Ishwar Pokharel's organizational report were also submitted in the meeting.   The meeting has also formed a three-member taskforce to allocate the responsibility of central members. The task force comprises Bishnu Poudel, Shankar Pokharel and Top Bahadur Rayamajhi.

According to spokesperson Pradeep Gyawali, chair Oli's report has appealed to the party cadres to be ready for elections as it could be announced at any time as the restored House of Representatives (HoR)  was failing to stabilize the political crisis.

Similarly, the general secretary's report has also prepared a time table to restructure the party committee's activities.  Central members Bishnu Rijal, Til Kumar Menyangbo and Som Mishra also attended today's meeting. They were with the dissenting side led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalnath Khanal.   The committee will again meet again on April 23.
