Govt decides to close schools of urban areas amid rising COVID-19 risk

KATHMANDU, April 19: The government has decided to close the schools of urban areas amid the onset of the second of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) 

A Cabinet meeting held at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday morning decided to this effect. 

“The schools in the city areas are required to operate virtual classes,” a minister told Ratopati. 

Earlier, a meeting of COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) held on Saturday recommended to the government to close down the schools in the urban areas until May 14.
