Normal life affected with curfew in place
Surunga (Jhapa) - The curfew that has been in place at Birtamod of Jhapa since Friday has not yet lifted.
With the curfew in place the general public have been facing hard time.
Curfew was clamped in the new Bus Park in the east, Charpane in the west, Mahananda Chowk in the north and Birta Bazaar in the southern part of Birtamod since 10.30 am Friday following a scuffle in regard to the murder of Laxman Shivakoti, 11, of Arjundhara municipality-11.
The scuffle took place in course of the demonstration demanding legal action against the murderer.
In course of the demonstration, Naresh Thapa, 30, of Arjundhara municipality-11 died in police shooting on Friday.
An all-party meeting held under the chair of Chief District Officer Rishiram Tiwari on Saturday took eight-point decision including requesting the Home Ministry to grant relief of Rs 1 million to the family of Thapa.
However, the curfew in Birtamod is still in place which has affected normal life here.
