Active cases of COVID-19 decreases by 427 in a day

Kathmandu - The number of active COVID-19 cases has decreased by 427 in the past 24 hours. The number of people who tested positive on Tuesday was 1,056 while the number of those who recovered from the flu-like infection stood at 1,483. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the recovery rate of COVID-19 has remained at 94.3 per cent with the total number of active infection cases at 13,896. Of the total 244,433 COVID-19 cases reported in the country till date, 230,537 have recovered fully with 1,483 COVID-19 patients returning home upon their full recovery today.

Meanwhile, Kathmandu Valley has recorded 496 new cases of COVID-19 today, among them 288 are male and 214 are female. Among the active 13,896 COVID-19 patients, 7,609 were availing treatment in home isolation while 330 infected ones were undergoing treatment at ICU. Likewise, among the 77 districts, six districts including Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski districts have reported more than 500 cases of COVID-19 while Manang and Dolpa districts don’t have any active case of COVID-19. Similarly, 14 people succumbed to COVID-19 today, taking the national COVID-19 fatality number to 1,651, according to the Ministry.
