COVID-19 confirmed elderly person dies in Chitwan

Kathmandu - Conravirus has been confirmed on a male who died during the treatment at Old Medical College, Chitwan. The 75-year-old man from Hetauda sub-metropolis in Makwanpur was admitted to the hospital on August 19. He died on Thursday night. Upon his arrival, his throat swab sample was collected and sent to the Chitwan Medical College for COVID-19 test.

Though the test result came positive, the result was not made public for the credibility as the Chitwan Medical College-based laboratory was established just sometimes ago, it is said. The test was again conducted on Friday at the Bharatpur Hospital-based COVID Lab for the confirmation.

The second test is also positive, according to Bharatpur Hospital’s information officer Leeladhar Poudel. The reports of two suspected who were already dead at the Old Medical College are awaited. The bodies have been kept at the Bharatpur Hospital’s mortuary. Many patients from Nepal-India border points visit the Old Medical College and with this, it is grappling with the increasing positive cases.
