Konjyosom floats concept of Tamang cultural village

Kathmandu - Konjyosom rural municipality located in the southern Lalitpur has pledged to develop and implement the concept of Tamang Cultural Village in the upcoming fiscal year 2077/78 BS. Presenting the perspective plan 'agriculture, tourism, culture, ecology and infrastructure;

bases for civilized and prosperous Konjyosom with good governance on Wednesday, its chair Gopilal Singtan announced that Tamang language will be taught as an optional subject up to grade 5 in community schools so as to preserve the mother language. He made this announcement in course of unveiling the annual policy and programmes for the fiscal year 2077/78 BS.

Under the theme of 'Our Konjyosom, Beautiful Konjyosom', the annual programme has laid emphasis on the construction of motor-able and suspension bridges and plantation of five saplings to compensate the chop-off of a tree to prevent environmental loss in course of the clean-up of forest for infrastructure development.

The rural municipality also has come up with a plan to keep the records of unregistered and unused public land and make proper utilization of the natural resources. Among other plans put forth for the upcoming year are irrigation facility for round-the-year farming, one ward one sports ground, announcement of agriculture and livestock year and development of work procedure to prevent the consumption of alcohol.

The rural municipality has envisaged developing a digital village profile, ensuring effective service delivery from wards and placing reward and punishment system for staff motivation, chair Singtan.
