Investment of Rs 15 million for promotion of traditional skill-based enterprises

Babiyachaur (Myygdi) - An investment of Rs 15 million has been mobilized in Myagdi for the promotion of enterprises based on indigenous skills. 

The mobilization has been made through the Market Linkage Development for Conflict Survivors of Nepal Project being implemented by Dhaulagiri Community Resource Development Centre (DCRDC) with the assistance of the Poverty Alleviation Fund. 

The project has mobilized Rs 16.8 million through revolving fund for the preservation and customization of indigenous skills and supporting income generation by producing competitive goods in the market, shared DDRC's Programme Coordinator Ramesh Poudel. 

He informed that the amount has mobilized as a revolving fund to provide subsidized financial support to 975 households associated to 51 producers' groups formed in the district. 

The project has been supporting to the entrepreneurs who have run indigenous skill based business such as smith workshop, Nepali paper production, allo clothes manufacturing, bamboo-based products, sweater and dhaka weaving. 

An arrangement has been made to channelize loans through revolving fund for enterprise expansion and purchase of instruments and raw materials.
