Araniko promoted Nepal in China: Joshi

Kathmandu–Centenary person Satyamohan Joshi has said that national luminary Araniko had made Nepal known in China 700 years ago by exhibiting his creations in Nepali art and culture.

He expanded Nepal-China friendship at the people's level after constructing a grand chaitya or shrine in eight years, Joshi said.

Releasing a travelogue by Kaladhar Kafley titled 'In the country of Shakespeare' on Saturday, Joshi said Nepal had developed travelogue during the times of Araniko.

Araniko promoted Nepal at the same time when Marcopolo promoted China in Europe. Commenting on the book, critic Ram Prasad Gyawali said the writer has very well described about the travel of Britain and about Shakespeare.
