Kathmandu–Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has said the party must hold its general convention early in order to strengthen party organization.
Early general convention of the party was imperative to expand the party as per the constitution, he stressed at a programme organized to welcome new entrants in the party in Kathmandu today.
"It is worrying that party structure has not internalized the federalism despite the adoption of federalism," he said, adding that it has been difficult to ensure prompt rescue and distribution of relief materials because the present government concentrated authority in centre, thereby limiting rights to the State and local governments.
Moreover, leader Singh blamed that lack of coordination among various ministries and stakeholders regarding the Guthi bill, bill on Human Rights Commission and Media Council bill gave a sense that the government had no leadership.
He suggested the new entrants to abide by party statute, procedure and regulation.
He welcomed them by offering shawls. Various people including Chairman of Thamel Tourism Development Council, Prakash Narsing Rana, were welcomed in the party.
