USA-donated 100,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines arrive in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, October 25: 100,620 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Monday morning.

The vaccine will be administered to the age group of between 12 and18  and people with chronic diseases, according to Dr Krishna Prasad Poudel, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

The vaccination drive is scheduled to begin after the Tihar and Chaat festivals.

The US government had earlier provided 1.53 million doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines in July.
