Employees at Bhanu municipality start wearing Bhanubhakta-era cap

Damauli–Employees at Bhanu municipality in Tanahun district have started wearing Bhanubhakta-era cap (Birkhe Topi).

The employees of Bhanu municipality which was named before the name of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya – the tower of Nepali language – have started wearing the typical cap from Sunday.

The municipal executive meeting of Bhanu municipality took the decision to make wearing Bhanu cap mandatory for employees from Asar 1 (June 16).

Rajendra Dev Pandey, Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality, said the municipal decision to this effect has come to force from Sunday.

"Wearing 'Birkhe Cap' has put into implementation to reflect the identity of Bhanubhakta era and get municipality visitors informed of the special attire", he added. As many as 100 employees of the municipality have attired them with Birkhe Cap, Pandey shared.

Udaya Raj Gautam, mayor of the municipality, said the campaign was initiated to keep the identity of national luminary Bhanubhakta Acharya and make publicity of the traditional cap.
