National Assembly election candidates restricted to Rs 350,000 expenditure limit

KATHMANDU: Ahead of the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election, the Election Commission (EC) has introduced a monetary constraint, capping the maximum allowable expenditure for candidates at Rs 350,000.

According to an official press statement, candidates are permitted to allocate this budget for various campaign-related expenditures, including the procurement of voter lists, transportation, fuel, publicity, supplies, seminars, interactions, office operations, and the deployment of representatives.

To ensure financial transparency, the EC has advised candidates to establish a distinct bank account exclusively for election-related transactions.

Additionally, candidates must appoint a responsible individual to manage financial affairs and diligently submit detailed expenditure reports to the EC.
