Former Deputy Prime Minister Gopalman Shrestha Dies at 83

Kathmandu. Senior leader of Nepali Congress and former Deputy Prime Minister Gopalman Shrestha has passed away at the age of 83. The news of Shrestha's untimely demise has made Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe very sad and heartbroken.

Angdembe mentioned that the late Shrestha was a tireless warrior of the Nepali democratic movement and remembered his contributions. Shrestha, who continuously struggled for democracy since 2017 BS and his student life, played a historic role in the front lines of the 2036 BS referendum, the 2042 BS Satyagraha, the 2046 BS People's Movement, and the 2062-063 BS People's Movement.

Angdembe stated that his contribution to the establishment of democracy, the success of the peace process, and the institutionalization of the federal democratic republic will always be remembered. Having served as a people's elected representative, Deputy Prime Minister, and led various ministries several times, Shrestha's contribution to strengthening the nation, democracy, and the Nepali Congress has established him as a respected figure in Nepali politics.

Angdembe mentioned that his simplicity, integrity, sacrifice, and dedication will always be a source of inspiration for future generations. Offering heartfelt condolences to the late Gopalman Shrestha in this time of sorrow, Angdembe expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
