Jajarkot –The Laburkhola Micro Hydropower Project at Chaurjahari municipality in west Rukum has shut down after flood in the Laburkhola stream following incessant rains washed away the project's intake canal.
Around 1,200 households had been using the power generated from the 80-kilowatt hydropower project.
Narji, Khatrigaon, Kumaigaon, Kapra, Sotikhola, Besigaon, Soti Gesma, Kotgaon and Gurtalgaon in the municipality are deprived of power supply due to this.
It is uncertain when the intake canal of the hydropower plant would be repaired and power supply restored.
