Financial assistance to rebuild school destroyed by fire

Beni –Financial assistance has been received for rebuilding a school destroyed by a fire. The Dandakhet-based Balmandir Basic School in Beni Municipality-4, Myagdi in Gandaki Province was reduced to ashes by the fire a year ago and the people from the district and currently residing in the United States of America have assisted Rs 221,170 to build new school infrastructure. The construction of a two-storey building is underway with the support from the District Education Office, Myagdi and various donors. 


The Myagdi Society America collected the funds and sent it to the school management committee through Gandaki Province State Assembly member Binod KC. He handed the amount to the school amidst a programme here recently. 


According to the school management committee, it has received Rs 45,000 from the a group of district people and currently living in Australia and local Chandra Bahadur Chan has donated Rs 150,000 to be meant for the rebuild works. 


The Global Education for Republic Al Foundation has also assisted the school to get its new building. 
Property worth Rs 9.2 million was gutted in the fire as it had completely destroyed the two-storey school building including a computer lab and a library. ---
