Dr. Lohani appointed as Nepal University VC

Kathmandu, December 20 — Dr. Bindunath Lohani has been selected as the Vice Chancellor of Nepal University for a four-year term.

He was appointed to the position by the first meeting of the university's highest governing Council.

Dr. Lohani completed his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a gold medal from Birla Institute of Technology in India in 1970.

He then completed his master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina, USA, in 1974, and earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Technology and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, in 1977.

Dr. Lohani began his professional career with the Nepal Government's Civil Service and later worked as a professor at the Asian Institute of Technology. He spent 30 years in various important positions at the Asian Development Bank, with his most recent role being Vice President.

Dr. Lohani has also published several works on development and the environment.
