Gagan Thapa pays fine of Rs 15 thousand set by Election Commission
KATHMANDU, July 27: Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa has paid the fine of Rs 15 thousand set by the Election Commission. Thapa informed that he paid the fine through social media, and said that he made the election expenses public again.
Thapa has said that he was fined because he did not know that he had to submit the details of the expenses he made public, to the Election Commission again.
Thapa has also informed that his election expenses are 23 lakhs 42 thousand 768 rupees 10 paisa. The Election Commission decided to fine more than 1,000 candidates for the House of Representatives who did not disclose the expenditure details of the last election held in November. Some leaders and MPs have criticized that decision.
