PM Oli calls for strengthening republic

Biratnagar, March 11 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the government has started advancing the nation by working diligently towards good governance and prosperity, while strengthening the federal democratic republic. 

In a special address to the Koshi Provincial Assembly on Tuesday, PM Oli emphasized the need to protect the constitution, which was earned through the sacrifices and struggles of the people, and stated that the government would continue to amend the constitution as necessary, in support of the people and the federal democratic republic.

Clarifying that anyone could compete in the current system, PM Oli argued that there was no need to raise opposition voices against the system. He expressed confidence that the system could be improved further through constitutional, peaceful, and good governance practices.

“We aim to eliminate poverty and backwardness. We won’t be satisfied with just removing poverty. Our goal is to address the overall human biological and just needs to move the country forward,” PM Oli stated. “With the citizen supremacy in this system, we want to work quickly for prosperity, create employment opportunities, and prioritize entrepreneurship. Our goal is not to take the country backward, but to move it forward.”

The Prime Minister also urged for unity amidst the country's geographical, cultural, and ethnic diversity, emphasizing the importance of creating a Nepal that is sovereign, democratic, and prosperous on the world map.

Earlier on Tuesday, PM Oli had addressed the 13th convocation ceremony of the Purbanchal University in Gothgaun, Morang.
