Gagan Thapa appreciates Prachanda’s commitment to democracy

Kathmandu, March 11 — Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has praised the commitment shown by the leader of the main opposition party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda,' towards democracy.

Speaking during the special session of  the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Thapa appreciated Prachanda's concerns regarding democracy and the Constitution.

"I had the opportunity to hear the remarks made by Prachanda. Especially, I would like to appreciate the commitment shown by the leader of the main opposition party towards Nepal's Constitution and the federal democratic republic," said Thapa. "We are all equally committed to this system and Constitution."

He mentioned that the Nepali Congress remains equally committed to safeguarding the Constitution and the system that was brought about through collective efforts.

He emphasized that the party's support for the federal democratic republic was not driven by a single event.

While acknowledging that the public is dissatisfied, Thapa claimed that the dissatisfaction was not directed at the government.

During the meeting, Prachanda had stated that due to the actions of the ruling government, reactionary and royalist forces are becoming active, and the public is also dissatisfied.
